Justina is a rider/trainer with over 20 years of experience with horses, and has worked, studied and ridden in Lithuania, Denmark, Sweden and England. Justina is currently an FEI Level 1 coach.
Alongside this, Justina is the President of the Dressage Club of Lithuania, and is also one of the founders of Lithuania's first and only Horse Protection Society.
Justina has a holistic approach to training and specializes in teaching and developing both riders and horses of different levels in the essential groundwork needed for all disciplines:
Horses – lunge work, in-hand work from the ground, ridden work in walk/trot/canter, lateral movements (shoulder-in, half-passes, leg yielding, travers/renvers), simple and flying changes in canter, pole and cavaletti work, jumping.
A lot of experience in re-training horses (trotters, ex-racers, problem horses) and developing young horses.
Riders – correct, independent and balanced riding position in the saddle using a series of exercises; lateral movements; jumping up to around 110cm; training for dressage and jumping competitions.
Justina's experience includes:
2014 - present, Lithuania: achieved FEI Level 1 coach certificate, currently working as a freelance coach, organising dressage seminars, clinics and competitions; head of Lithuanian Dressage Club, running courses and lecturing on various training/riding/horsemanship courses around Lithuania.
2013-2014 Lithuania: Riding instructor at JSC "Lithuanian Stud", largest stud in Lithuania - day to day management of the riding school, scheduling lessons, schooling riding school horses, bringing on youngsters, teaching riders of all levels and ages.
2006 – 2013: working as a freelance riding instructor in Lithuania, Denmark, Sweden, organising dressage events, participating in seminars, clinics.
2002-2005 England: A Levels (Lansdowne College, London) and BSc Equine Studies (Writtle College, Chelmsford), part-time exercise rider.
2001-2002 Lithuania: exercise rider and show groom for Andrius Petrovas, member of the Lithuanian National Show Jumping Team, working with horses from recently backed to CSI*** level.
1998-2001 Lithuania: trained with Lithuanian show jumping trainer, Master of Sports, Kestutis Natkevicius and National level dressage trainer and judge Ruta Saboniene, competing in show jumping competitions at National level.
1995-1998 Denmark: riding and grooming riding school and private livery horses, assisting with pony lessons
Justina is continuously working on improving and deepening her knowledge and practice in equestrian sports and teaching.
